About the trail
Gicheru Mines is popular for Diatomite mining and the activity has left very interesting tunnels and caves. The mines also give an interesting contrast to the surrounding Maasai grazing fields. At the escarpment you will also be able to have a paranomic view of Mt. Suswa, Mt. Longonot, and Suswa tarmac road winding through the Savana and the Standard Gauge Railway to Naivasha.

The trail is rocky and comfortable hiking shoes with a good grip is advised.

Public transport means, from CBD take super Metro Matatus from Near Mr. price Moi Avenue and Alight at Kikuyu town stage then take the Matatus 112B going to Thigio to Limuru (insist on the one for Limuru to avoid connecting)and alight at the Classic Hotel Thigio
